Hanbok Culture Week 2022: Various events held at HiKR Ground and in 36 cities and 17 countries until Oct 23

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST), in collaboration with the Korea Craft and Design Foundation (President KIM Tae Hoon, KCDF), will host Hanbok Culture Week 2022 until October 23 (Sun), which started on October 17 (Mon). The Hanbok Week stages a variety of cultural events in 36 cities and 17 countries, including at HiKR Ground, a Korean tourism promotion center located next to Cheonggyecheon Stream in Seoul. Marking its 5th anniversary this year, Hanbok Culture Week is an annual festival celebrated in the third week of October that presents different programs such as exhibitions, try-on activities, and fashion shows, all aimed at promoting Hanbok culture in everyday life.

Minister PARK visited the 50th International Cervantino Festival in Mexico to enhance cooperation with Mexico

On October 12 (Wed), Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) attended the opening ceremony of the "50th International Cervantino Festival" held in Guanajuato, Mexico as a Guest of Honor. During his visit, the Minister said, “We are celebrating the 50th Cervantino Festival. It is a great honor to participate as a Guest of Honor in this special year. We have prepared diverse venues to show K-pop, classical music, traditional dance, modern dance, BTS performances in IT and immersive technology, media art, and movies. Based on the close cooperation and vibrant exchanges between the two nations, we hope the two nations will lead the times together in the future.”

BTS fully support the successful bidding of the AFC Asian Cup 2023

The boyband group BTS supports the South Korea's bidding for the AFC Asian Cup 2023 with the release of the new video. Recently, BTS filmed a short video supporting Korea's bidding for the AFC Asian Cup 2023, expressing their hopes to host the game for the first time in 63 years since 1960. The video was uploaded on October 12 (Wed) at the official website of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) and the Korea Football Association. Also, the video can be watched on the official SNS channels (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) of the MCST.

"K-EXPO VIETNAM 2022"starts from Oct 15 to promote and advance into the overseas market

The "K-EXPO", jointly held for the first time this year, was designed in relation to Hallyu contents and related industries to expand overseas sales channels and spread the charm of Korean culture, considering the fact that even Hallyu related industries had big ripple effects on consumer goods, SMEs had difficulty advancing into the overseas market because of difficulty in accessing information and limited budget. MCST, taking the initiative, developed this project into a pan-government collaboration project after discussing with the Hallyu Cooperation Committee[1].

Korea's Immersive Content Creates Waves in Mexico
