The Amended Enforcement Decree of the International Conference Industry Promotion Act Will Take Effect from Aug 2

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) announced that the amended Enforcement Decree of the International Conference Industry Promotion Act, which includes eased requirements for designation as an international conference complex and international conference cluster facility, would be implemented from August 2 (Tue) to revitalize the MICE industry affected by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Korean Publication in Tokyo Book Fair

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) and the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea (Director KIM Jun Hee, KPIPA) will be jointly hosting the 2022 Visiting Korean Book Fair in Tokyo on July 28th (Thur) and 29th (Fri) at the Park Hyatt Tokyo in Japan to support Korean publishers entering the Japanese market.

K-Content EXPO in SINGAPORE 2022 from Jul 26 to 29

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) will hold the “K-Content EXPO in SINGAPORE 2022” in collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency (President CHO Hyun-rae, KOCCA) to support the advancement of Korea-based content companies into overseas markets. The event will be held at the Sands EXPO & Convention Center for four days from July 26 (Tue) to 29 (Fri) in Singapore.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) announced on July 25 (Mon) that actor Oh Young-soo from the popular streaming drama “Squid Game” and choreographer Monika from the entertainment show “Street Woman Fighter” became ambassadors for the “2022 Welcome Daehakro” to attract visitors at home and abroad and promote Korean theaters and festivals.

HiKR Ground, a Playground Welcoming Visitors at home and abroad, Opens on July 22

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) will open HiKR Ground, a tourism promotion hall designed to offer an immersive experience, in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization (Acting President SHIN Sang-yong, KTO) at KTO’s Seoul Center on July 22 for tourists from around the world, especially younger generations. HiKR is a portmanteau of “hi” and “Korea” expressing “A big hello from Korea to visitors from around the world.” It offers space and programs to make their stay more memorable and exciting. MCST and KTO spent more than a year renovating the previous K-Style Hub into HiKR Ground equipped with a wide range of immersive content, which enables visitors to dynamically explore the multifaceted charms of Korean culture, to more effectively appeal to young tourists.
