Minister PARK Bo Gyoon Promotes the Charm of K-Culture at the G20 Culture Ministers’ Meeting

On September 13th (Tue), Minister PARK Bo Gyoon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism attended the G20 Culture Ministers’ Meeting, which took place at the Convention Center of the Borobudur Plataran Hotel in Indonesia. The Minister stated that the “theme of the meeting on ‘Culture for Sustainable Living’ is in fact one of the objectives the Korean government aims to realize in creating a culturally attractive nation.” He added that with a “focus on fair access to culture, based on the ‘universal value of freedom,’ the Korean government unfolds diverse policies that support the socially vulnerable, including persons with disabilities, and young artists.”

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) will unveil a diverse range of cultural exchange events both in Korea and Vietnam to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and Vietnam this year, while shining the spotlight on a new era of prosperity. The Korea-Vietnam Lantern Cultural Festival will light up the first of the events from Sept. 9 (Fri) to 11 (Sun) in Hanoi.

In celebration of Korea Art Week 2022 (Sep 1 to 11), Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism PARK Bo Gyoon visited Korea International Art Fair (Kiaf) Seoul, the nation’s largest art event, and Frieze Seoul, one of the world’s leading art fairs, on September 2 (Fri). During his visit, he met HWANG Dal-Seung, Chair of the Kiaf Operating Committee and President of the Galleries Association of Korea (GAK), and Frieze CEO Simon FOX and shared his thoughts on Korean art’s entry into the international art world.

The Blue House Multi-Purpose Culture & Art Space Project kicks off with a special exhibition by the artists with disabilities. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) unveiled Blue House’s first exhibition on the second floor of Chunchugwan on August 31 (Wed). The exhibition, held under the title “Into the People and Into Harmony” in partnership with the Federation of Disability Culture & Arts Associations of Korea, will present a total of 60 artworks by artists with disabilities until September 19 (Mon).
