KANG Chang Hee Leads “Chungcheong 2027” Preparations

On March 11 (Mon), Minister YU In Chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) appointed former National Assembly Speaker KANG Chang Hee as the chairman of the “The 2027 FISU Summer World University Games (Chungcheong 2027)” Organizing Committee. The appointment ceremony took place at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Seoul, where a certificate of appointment was presented to him.

On March 7 (Thur), Minister YU In Chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) met with swimmers HWANG Sun Woo, LEE Ho Jun, YANG Jae Hun, LEE Yu Yeon, KIM Su Ji, and LEE Jae Kyung, congratulating them for reaching the “Top 8 in the World” in swimming at the “Doha 2024 World Aquatics Championships” and making a new historical feat for Korea.

“2024 Korea Grand Sale” Attracted 120,000 Foreign Visitors, a Record High

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) and the Visit Korea Committee (Chairperson LEE Boo Jin, VKC) successfully concluded the “2024 Korea Grand Sale” on February 29 (Thur), 50 days after its commencement on January 11 (Thur), drawing an unprecedented 120,000 foreign tourists.

Korea to foster a Muslim-friendly tourism environment together with the private sector

On February 28, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) and the Korea Tourism Organization hosted the launching ceremony for the “A’alam Arabi Korea” public-private partnership at the Yeong Bin Gwan, the Shilla Seoul. The title “A’alam Arabi Korea” means the “Arab World inside Korea” in Arabic, reflecting the partnership’s goal to position Korea as an appealing and convenient travel destination within the Arab World. The launching ceremony was attended by Minister YU In Chon, Second Vice Minister JANG Mi Ran, and ambassadors from five Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries: the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait, in addition to 31 companies across sectors such as accommodation, medical services, beauty, shopping, food and beverage, and K-culture.
