2024 Overseas Hallyu Survey Revealed 70% Korean Wave Experiencers View K-Content “Positively”

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) in collaboration with the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (President JUNG Kil Hwa, KOFICE) announced the results of the “2024 Overseas Hallyu Survey (As of 2023).” This survey examines the usage and perception of Korean Wave content in key foreign countries. The survey expanded its sample size from the previous 800–1,200 participants to 700–1,600 to allow for more detailed analysis.

“Changwon-Tongyeong: A Spring Bloom of Flowers and Music”

Minister YU In Chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) visited the “Changwon-Tongyeong: A Spring Bloom of Flowers and Music” sites on March 28 (Thur) and 29 (Fri) as part of the fourth installment of the “Local Journey to See Local 100 (Local Journey).” Minister YU has been visiting “Local 100” locations every month, starting with “Miryang” in December last year, followed by “Gangneung” in January, and “Suwon” in February. In March, he attended the spring festivals, which are part of “Local 100,” including the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival in Changwon City (Mayor HONG Nam Pyo) and the Tongyeong International Music Festival in Tongyeong City (Mayor CHEON Young Ki), representing South Gyeongsang Province’s major seasonal events.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST), in collaboration with the Arts Council Korea (Chairperson JEONG Byung Guk, ARKO) announced the availability of the “Youth Culture and Arts Pass.” Starting March 28 (Thur), young individuals born in 2005 are eligible to apply for the pass, which grants access to a variety of performances and exhibitions.
