Visit to Jeju Island’s art and tourism scene, where “golden trumpets sound”

On Thursday, August 8, Minister YU In Chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) visited Jeju Island’s art and tourism scene. Attending the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival (JIWEF) for the first time as the minister, he watched the opening performance, met representative artists from Jeju, and listened to their voices. He also visited the “Road of Patriot Hero KANG Seung Woo” and the Monument for Korean War Veterans by bicycle, showed his respects, and inspected preparations to host visitors along “Jeju Black Pork Street” during the peak season.

Experience the Charm of Hanbok: Blending Tradition and Modernity at the Hanbok Expo 2024

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) in collaboration with the Korea Craft & Design Foundation (President JANG Dong Kwang, KCDF) organize the Hanbok Expo 2024, Korea’s premier hanbok fair. This event will take place from August 9 (Fri) to August 12 (Mon) at the Art Hall in Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). First Vice Minister of the MCST, YONG Ho Sung, will grace the opening ceremony on August 9 (Fri) to celebrate the launch of the Hanbok Expo 2024 and offer encouragement to all those stakeholders and officials prepared the event.

Showcasing the Beauty of Korean Traditional Culture at the Paris 2024 Olympics

In celebration of the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) is running an exhibition titled “THAT’S KOREA: The Shape of Time” at Korea House (Maison de la Chimie) from July 25 (Thur) to August 11 (Sun). The exhibition features hanbok (traditional Korean clothing), hanji (traditional Korean paper), and hansik (soban or dining table), showcasing the beauty and historical value of Korean traditional culture to the world.

Largest-Ever Korea House Opens for Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Minister YU In Chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) together with the Korea Sport and Olympic Committee (KSOC) (President LEE Kee Heung) will operate the largest-ever Korea House from July 25 (Thur) to August 11 (Sun) to promote Korean culture during the Olympic Games Paris 2024 (Paris Olympics).

A Close Look into North Korean Culture and Art with North Korean defector artists

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST), the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute, and the Korea Arts and Culture Education held the 1st South-North Cultural Exchange Education and Forum at the National Folk Museum on July 17 (Wed). The Forum, which will be held a total of four times until December this year, was planned to examine the differences between the two Korean culture and arts in order to lay the foundation for inter-Korean cultural exchange cooperation and seek ways to restore the cultural community in the future.
