Worldwide Korean language teachers discuss the future of Korean language education

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in cooperation with the King Sejong Institute Foundation, is hosting the World Korean Educator Conference 2025 from July 21 (Monday) to July 24 (Thursday) at The Shilla Seoul. Marking its 17th year, the World Korean Educator Conference is a training program designed to strengthen the expertise of Korean language educators by inviting King Sejong Institute instructors from both Korea and overseas, and providing them with the latest teaching methods and resources. This year’s event brings together more than 300 Korean language educators, including 162 teachers from 107 King Sejong Institutes in 49 countries around the world.

Promote Korea’s Regional Culture: Discover the Charm of Our Neighborhood with Local 100!

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) will launch the second edition of “Local 100” project (2026–2027) to identify and promote Korea’s representative regional cultural assets in collaboration with the public. Beginning from July 1, the ministry is accepting recommendations from the public for hidden cultural gems in their neighborhoods, which will serve as candidates for the second round of “Local 100.”

Eleven New King Sejong Institutes designated in 2025

On June 30, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the King Sejong Institute Foundation designated 11 new King Sejong Institutes in 9 countries to be established in 2025. With this new designation, Korean language and culture classes will now be available at 252 King Sejong Institutes across 87 countries worldwide.

Over 46,000 Hallyu Fans Worldwide Enjoyed 2025 My K-Festa

The first mega scale Hallyu festival, “2025 My K-FESTA,” which brought together Korea’s cultural industries in one place, was held successfully from June 19 to 22 at Olympic Park in Seoul. The Festa attracted over 46,000 Hallyu fans from Korea and abroad, including approximately 17,000 international tourists visiting Korea.
