15 Stories Honored as the Creative Source of K-Content Intellectual Property

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister CHAE Hwi-young, MCST), in collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), hosted the 2025 Korea Content Awards – Story Category Ceremony to recognize 15 award-winning works on November 25. Marking its 17th year, the Korea Content Awards – Story Category (formerly the Korea Story Contest) serves as a platform for discovering original stories with the potential to expand into all field of K-content, including comics and webtoons, performing arts, animation, drama, and film.

Celebrating the Remarkable Journey and Bright New Beginnings of Korea’s “Storytelling Grandmas”

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister CHAE Hwi-young, MCST), together with the Korean Studies Institute, hosted the 2025 Story Grandma Day event on November 25 (Tuesday) at the Daejeon Convention Center. The event included a graduation ceremony for 405 “Storytelling Grandmas” who have completed more than five years of service, as well as a completion ceremony for 541 Story Grandmas who have completed their training as part of the 17th recruiting round and will begin their activities next year.

The 2nd Humanities Culture Festival to Convey the Strength of Compassion through the Humanities

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will host the 2nd Humanities Culture Festival at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) on November 22 (Saturday) and 23 (Sunday), in collaboration with Arts Council Korea (ARKO). In conjunction with the festival, 45 humanities programs have been taking place across 28 locations throughout Korea since November 1 and will continue through November 23.

Come Visit “Souvenir Land,” Filled with the Best of K-Goods

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister CHAE Hwi-young, MCST) and the Korea Tourism Organization are hosting the 2025 The Souvenir Fair from November 21 (Friday) to 23 (Sunday) at Art Halls 1 and 2 of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). On November 21 (Friday), Second Vice Minister Kim Dae-hyun of MCST will visit the venue to mark the opening of Korea’s only tourism souvenir fair and to encourage the winners of this year’s souvenir competition.

Strengthening the Global Copyright Protection Framework for Creative Content

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister CHAE Hwi-young, MCST), in collaboration with the Korea Copyright Protection Agency (KCOPA) and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), hosted the 2025 International Forum on Copyright Protection Framework (IFCPE) and Interpol Global Meeting on Digital Piracy (GMDP) on November 17 (Monday) – 18 (Tuesday) at Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to strengthen the global copyright protection framework for creative content.
