K-Pop comforts global Hallyu fans and shares messages of hope through concert

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST) will be hosting the ‘2021 World K-pop Concert (K-Culture Festival)’ from November 13 through 14 to comfort global Hallyu fans and share messages of hope amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. This concert will be livestreamed online through its official ‘K-Culture Festival’ YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/c/kculturefestival).

K-EXPO, Enjoying Korean Culture On and Off Line

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST) together with five other Ministries[1], and nine public corporations[2], including the Korea Creative Content Agency (President CHO Hyeon-rae, KOCCA) will hold a comprehensive Hallyu event called “K-EXPO” from 1 November (Mon) to 30 (Tuesday) to promote Hallyue (Korean wave) products and meet the overseas fans who had difficult times during the COVID-19 for the past two years. “K-EXPO” is an inter-Ministerial collaborative non-face-to-face event that sells Korean products, including cosmetics, food, fashion, household goods as well as cultural contents, which gained worldwide popularity thanks to the recent series “Squid Game”.

Son Heung-Min in Korean Tourism Video to Attract Tourists

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST), together with the Korea Tourism Organization (President AHN YoungBae, KTO), announced that Korean tourism videos featuring world-class football star Son Heung-Min are released from 18 October. Son was appointed as an honorary ambassador for Korean tourism on 6 July to raise interest in Korea and promote Korea as an attractive international tourists’ destination when people will be able to freely travel in the near future.

Quarantine-free Travel Opened to Singapore from 15 November

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) announced that the ‘Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) between the Republic of Korea and Singapore’ was agreed by the Minister NOH Hyeong Wook and Minister S. Iswaran from the Ministry of Transport in Singapore on the occasion of a virtual conference held on 8 October. The VTL arrangement between the two countries was a result of months-long discussion with relevant ministries involving the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minister CHUNG Eui-yong, MOFA), Ministry of Health and Welfare (Minister KWON Deok-cheol, MOHW), and Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (Commissioner JEONG Eun-kyeong, KDCA).

K-Books, Ready to Meet the Audience in 14 Countries

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST, Minister HWANG Hee) and the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea (KPIPA, Acting Director SHIN HyunSu) host Korean book promotional events in 14 countries, including the UK, Japan, Spain, and Belgium to provide opportunities for international readers to get a feel for Korean literature, taste and read Korean books. This event was organized in collaboration with 14 Korean Cultural Centers overseas to promote and support international readers meet Korean books more closely under the Pandemic challenge where face-to-face events were difficult for the past two years.
