The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST), together with the Korea Creative Content Agency (President JO Hyun Rae, KOCCA) held an event to foster the mutual growth of K-content and related industries. The event took place at COEX in Seoul on Wednesday, November 29. First Vice Minister of the MCST JEON Byung Geuk plans to attend the event, observe company presentations, and listen to on-site opinions.

The Flame of “Gangwon 2024” Reignites in Wonju

Minister YU In Chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) once again ignites the flame of the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games (Gangwon 2024), a sports festival uniting the dreams and challenges of youth worldwide. In celebration of G-50, marking 50 days before the Gangwon 2024 competition (Nov 30), Minister YU attended the Gangwon 2024 Wonju Torch Tour on the afternoon of November 28 (Tue) at Yukminkwan High School in Wonju. This attendance marks Minister YU’s second participation in the Torch Tour, following the commemorative event celebrating 100 days before the competition (G-100) on October 11, where he inaugurated the Torch Tour.

CHOI Jong Gu, Appointed as the New President of the Gangwon 2024 Organizing Committee, Committed to Ensuring a Successful Competition

On November 27, Minister YU In Chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) appointed former Chairman of the Financial Services Commission (FSC) CHOI Jong Gu as the President of the Organizing Committee for the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games (Gangwon 2024) and presented him with a letter of appointment at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. The organization has also appointed 7 new members to its Advisors Group, including former officials with experience at the 2018 Winter Olympics (PyeongChang 2018), International Olympic Committee (IOC) member KIM Jae Youl, and vice chairmen of major economic organizations, to help ensure the successful hosting of the Games, which are just over 50 days away.

World’s First Experiential Copyright Museum Opens

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) together with the Korea Copyright Commission (Chairman CHOI Byung Goo, KCC) opened the world’s first experiential copyright museum in Jinju Innovation City on Wednesday, November 22. The National Copyright Museum was established so that young people can learn about copyright in an easy and fun way through creative experience activities.
