Journey for Freedom and Peace: Eleven Themed Tour Routes Featuring DMZ Launched

On April 21 (Fri), the government will launch the DMZ Peace Trail Themed Tour Routes (Themed Routes) to boost the local economy and tourism. The routes are designed to allow visitors to reflect on the value of freedom, security, and peace while experiencing the ecological, cultural, and historical resources in and around the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Online tour registration opened on March 31 (Fri) on the Peace Trail website (www.dmzwalk.com) and the walking tour mobile application, Durunubi.

Korea Selected as the “Country of Focus” for the 2023 Brisbane Writers Festival … A Chance to Showcase the Beauty of K-Literature

Korea has been named the “Country of Focus” for the 2023 Brisbane Writers Festival. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) will work with the Korean Cultural Centre Australia, the Literature Translation Institute of Korea, and the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea to take part in the festival in Brisbane, Australia between May 10 (Wed) and 14 (Sun), to showcase the beauty of Korean literature (K-literature).

Ministries to Join Forces to Stop K-content Piracy

Following President YOON Suk Yeol’s order to develop government-wide measures to eradicate content piracy, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) will launch a consultative body with the Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, the Korea Communications Commission, and the National Police Agency. The new organization convened its first meeting on March 28 (Tue).

Preparations Are Underway for Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games with New Ambassadors and Cultural Event Director Group

The Gangwon 2024 Organising Committee has newly appointed five ambassadors, two members of the Cultural Event Director Group, and six members of the Advisory Group, as part of its efforts to prepare for the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games, which is just 300 days ahead. On March 24 (Fri), Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) PARK Bo Gyoon attended the appointment ceremony at Seoul Olympic Parktel to present the appointment certificates to members of the Cultural Event Advisory Group in person. JIN Jong Oh and LEE Sang Hwa, who chair the Organising Committee, presented appointment certificates to members of the Cultural Event Director Group and new ambassadors, respectively.
