Welcome Ceremony for the Korea National Team Returning from the 2024 Paris Paralympics

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST), in collaboration with the Korea Paralympic Committee (President JUNG Jin Owan, KPC), held a disbandment ceremony for the Korea national team returning from the 2024 Paris Paralympics, September 10 (Tue), at 5:00 PM in the Great Hall at Incheon International Airport, Terminal 2. The ceremony was attended by MCST Vice Minister JANG Mi Ran, who had supported the team on-site during the Paralympic Games in Paris and attended the closing ceremony.
Other attendees included President JUNG Jin Owan of KPC, head of the Paralympic national team BAE Dong Hyun, and around 160 athletes. The ceremony featured a bouquet presentation to the athletes, a report on the competition results, returning of the national team flag, interviews with the athletes, and a commemorative photo session.
Over 4,400 athletes from 182 nations took part in the 2024 Paris Paralympics, held from August 27 (Tue) through September 8 (Sun), with a program featuring 22 sports. Team Korea achieved a total of 30 medals (6 gold, 10 silver, and 14 bronze), placing 22nd overall in the rankings.
“I congratulate our national team on successfully completing all their games and returning home safely,” said Vice Minister. “I also would like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of our athletes, who have brought great honor to Korea.”
