“CONTENT IP MARKET 2023,” held on Nov 29, provided a venue for collaboration

Collaborative cases between content and consumer goods companies were showcased at the “2023 K-EXPO THAILAND,” alongside discussions on ways to strengthen collaboration

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST), together with the Korea Creative Content Agency (President JO Hyun Rae, KOCCA) held an event to foster the mutual growth of K-content and related industries. The event took place at COEX in Seoul on Wednesday, November 29. First Vice Minister of the MCST JEON Byung Geuk plans to attend the event, observe company presentations, and listen to on-site opinions.

To maximize the impact of the Korean Wave, the Ministry is collaborating with related ministries to oversee projects aimed at supporting the joint overseas expansion of K-content and related industries. In conjunction with ministry collaboration projects, “CONTENT IP MARKET 2023” has provided a venue for K-content and related industry officials to engage in exchanges and strategic cooperation.

During this event, collaboration cases between K-content and consumer goods companies were presented through the “2023 K-EXPO” convergence zone,[1] which took place from November 9 to 12 in Bangkok, Thailand. Along with the release of the prototype, implications from the collaboration process and future plans will be shared, and ways to strengthen collaboration between content and related industries will be discussed.

Furthermore, content and related industry officials will showcase products or content intellectual property (IP) rights they seek to collaborate on. They will also conduct exchanges between companies for overseas export, promotion, and marketing cooperation.

Launch of “K-Content Export Council” in 2024, further strengthening public-private cooperation and the communication system

The MCST will further enhance the collaboration system with Korean Wave–related ministries and associated companies so that the global premium effect of K-content can spread to related industries, such as consumer goods, agricultural products, and marine products. As the demand for collaboration between K-content and related industries grows, the “K-Content Export Council,” in which related ministries, public institutions, and private companies participate, will be launched early next year to inspect export sites and provide industry guidance. The Ministry plans to take the lead in communicating with them.
