The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST), in collaboration with the Visit Korea Committee (VKC), will launch 11 new regional tourism specialized products that offer foreign tourists to experience the diverse attractions of Korea, including nature, culture, cuisine, and hiking activities across various regions.

MCST and VKC are promoting the development of these specialized products as part of the Visit Korea Year 2024 campaign, with the goal of encouraging more foreign tourists to explore local regions. This initiative seeks to revitalize the domestic travel industry’s regional tourism product development and provide foreign visitors with a variety of travel options to explore different areas of Korea according to their preferences. The program offers step-by-step support, from the development to the promotion of regional tourism products, and additional support will be provided for products linked to regional airports through cooperation with Korea Airports Corporation.

Tourism Products to Enjoy Korea’s Diverse Attractions, Including Nature, Culture, Cuisine, and Hiking

The 11 products to be launched have been meticulously planned through public proposals and consultations with regional tourism content and marketing experts, leading to their commercialization. The itineraries are specially designed to showcase the charm of various regions in Korea, with themes such as K-pop, cuisine, tradition, nature, healing, and hiking. To attract new inbound tourism demand, these Visit Korea Year 2024 Specially Planned Tourism Products will be introduced in mid-August through leading global online travel platforms (OTAs) like Viator (for the American market), Creatrip (for the global market), and Klook (for the Chinese-speaking market).

The Ministry stated, “We expect these regional tourism specialized products to contribute to the revitalization of regional tourism and serve as a catalyst for the development of various regional tourism products.” The official added, “MCST will continue to discover regional tourism enterprises and provide comprehensive support—from product planning to promotion—to invigorate the regions by attracting not only foreign tourists but also an increased number of visitors overall.”
