Second VM JANG Mi Ran visited the athletes’ villages in Jincheon and Icheon on Jan 2
Second Vice Minister JANG Mi Ran of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) visited the Jincheon National Training Center and the Icheon Training Center of the Korea Paralympic Committee (KPC) on January 2 (Tue). The purpose of these visits was to inspire athletes gearing up for the upcoming Paris 2024 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

At the Jincheon National Training Center, Second Vice Minister JANG inspected the athletes’ training progress and conditions, focusing on facilities such as the archery training grounds. She expressed encouragement to athletes who were diligently practicing despite the cold weather. The visit to the KPC Icheon Training Center involved a tour of training facilities and a shared meal with national para-athletes, allowing her to acknowledge their commitment to training for the new year.
“This year marks a significant milestone with the Paris Olympics and Paralympics. It is a time for our national athletes and coaches to reap the rewards of their hard work and perseverance,” Second Vice Minister JANG stated, adding, “Their inspiring performances at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou deeply moved me. With about 200 days remaining, I urge them to give their all so that Koreans can proudly support Team Korea.” She further emphasized, “I am proud of our national athletes who train with determination. The Ministry is committed to improving their welfare and training conditions, ensuring continued focus and progress. We wholeheartedly support our national athletes to shine on the grand stages of the Olympics and Paralympics.”
