I am Kang Jung-won, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST).
I will provide you with a briefing on the preparations for the K-pop Super Live performance scheduled to take place on August 11 as part of the 2023 Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree.
Following the decision to host the concert, the MCST has been working diligently alongside with the relevant agencies to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for over 40,000 youth participants during the K-pop artists' performances.
First, participants will be safely guided from their accommodations to the stadium via over a thousand buses, with designated guides accompanying each bus. Adhering to a meticulous schedule, participants will enter the venue sequentially between 14:00 and 17:30, ensuring managed crowd flow and minimizing congestion. After a 30-minute closing ceremony at 17:30, the K-pop Super Live concert is scheduled to take place from 19:00 to 21:00.
The seating arrangement comprises 37,000 seats in the stands and an additional 6,000 ground-level seats, totaling 43,000 seats. Seat placements and entry/exit procedures will consider factors like temperature, travel time to accommodations, and departure schedules.
Moving on to emergency medical measures, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Mapo District, and the fire department, preparations are underway to establish four on-site emergency medical stations and deploy 10 ambulances for swift responses to any emergencies.
With particular attention to Typhoon Khanun's northward movement, meteorologists from the Korea Meteorological Administration are stationed on-site to provide weather updates. Additional measures, such as stage wire reinforcement to withstand the typhoon, have been implemented. Furthermore, we will follow the manual for facility adjustments and measures based on wind speed.
Extensive hygiene preparations are also underway to ensure participants' comfort. To minimize restroom congestion, an extra 30 portable restroom units have been set up within the stadium. Over 200 staff members will be assigned for facility cleaning, including restrooms.
Meal packages that can be stored at room temperature will be provided for participants' dinner before the concert following the closing ceremony.
The MCST, in collaboration with relevant government agencies and the Organizing Committee, is dedicated to successfully executing the 2023 Scout Jamboree closing ceremony and the K-pop Super Live concert through meticulous safety management and advanced preparations.
This concludes the briefing.
Thank you.
