The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) operates a “Korea Booth” and hosts “K-POP SUPER LIVE” at the “World Scout Jamboree 2023 in Saemangeum” (Saemangeum Jamboree), uniting over 43,000 scouts from 158 countries through K-Culture. Minister PARK Bo Gyoon attended the opening ceremony of the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Saemangeum on August 2 (Wed) to welcome youths from around the world.
Minister PARK stated, “K-Culture, which captivates global audiences, began to operate vibrantly and charmingly at the Saemangeum Jamboree, harmonizing with the event’s slogan: ‘Draw Your Dream.’ On Cultural Exchange Day, in particular, young citizens from around the world will immerse themselves in K-Culture, nurturing their dreams and fostering unity, which will be vividly remembered by future generations.”
“Korea Booth” offers experiences with hanbok (traditional Korean clothing), the Korean language, and key K-Tourism information from August 1 to 12
The MCST has set up the “Korea Booth” in the “Saemangeum Delta,” a space for all participants and visitors through the “Day Visitor” programs to experience the atmosphere of the World Jamboree. The booth, which offers experiences on hanbok and Korean language, as well as essential information about K-Tourism, will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day from August 1 (Tue) to 12 (Sat).
The “Korean Language and Culture Experience Booth” and “Metaverse King Sejong Institute,” operated by the King Sejong Institute Foundation, allow visitors to engage with Korean language and K-Culture content through mobile apps and virtual reality devices. Various hands-on activities are also available, including Hangeul folding fan crafts and Korean folk games.
The Korea Craft & Design Foundation and the Korea Traditional Culture Center will operate the “Hanbok Culture Experience Booth,” where young citizens from around the world and visitors can create lasting memories by trying on traditional hanbok. In addition, special hanbok, including gonryongpo (King’s Robe with Dragon Insignia), official uniforms, and military uniforms, will be on display, with chimseon (needlework) demonstrations and gugak (traditional Korean music) performances.
The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) runs the “Korea Tourism Promotion Booth” to increase worldwide participants’ interest in K-Tourism. Activities include writing a commemorative postcard designed with the Jamboree logo and K-Tourism photos, which will be sent to participants a year later via the “slow mailbox.” A large coloring wall is also available, featuring diverse tourist attractions, such as Gwanghwamun Gate, Cheomseongdae Observatory, and Jeju Dolhareubang. Participants can also experience the handy “1330 Korea Travel Helpline” during their trip to Korea.

The MCST has arranged this K-pop concert to celebrate the event and promote “Visit Korea Year 2023–2024.” Eleven popular K-pop stars, including IVE and STAYC, will join the stage, uniting participants through K-Culture and creating a platform for unity.
