Actresses PARK Sun Young and JUNG Hye In, along with former football player KIM Tae Young, a key player in the 2002 World Cup, will show their support for the South Korean national team in the “2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.”

 

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, MCST) together with the Korea Football Association (President CHUNG Mong Gyu, KFA) hosts the “High-Intensity[1] Supporters Inauguration Ceremony” on June 1 (Thur) at 10:00 a.m. at Yongsan I’PARK Mall Futsal Field, in anticipation of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The official national team support slogan (selected through a social media contest) was determined as “High Intensity, Rise High, and Play Strong.” The event aims to increase public interest in women’s football and wish for the success of the Korean national team. MCST Minister PARK Bo Gyoon, KFA President CHUNG Mong Gyu, Vice President KIM Jeong Bae, national team player LEE Geum Min, supporters, and other dignitaries will be attending.

 

Minister PARK stated, “K-football is a series of miracles. I hope our players’ passion, determination, and dedication explode in this World Cup, leaving a strong impression of Korean women’s football’s strength on our nation and the world. I also hope for a nurturing environment where female athletes can pursue their dreams in various sports and for the horizon of women’s sports participation to expand dramatically.”

Actresses PARK Sun Young and JUNG Hye In, as well as KIM Tae Young, the KFA’s Social Contribution Committee chairman, also join forces to support the Korean national team in the FIFA Women’s World Cup. PARK Sun Young and JUNG Hye In have showcased their exceptional football skills and extraordinary love for the sport as the aces of their respective teams in the popular SBS program “Shooting Stars.” KIM Tae Young, a representative of Korean football, made significant contributions during the 2002 World Cup, displaying unwavering determination and serving as a key player.

 

During the event, various activities will take place, including a Women’s World Cup Support Talk Show in collaboration with the supporters and a “Skill Challenge,” where participants will engage in a Random Ball[2] Lifting Challenge on the ground.

 

MCST considers enhancing international sports competitiveness and raising the country’s profile through expanded international exchanges as a national priority[3], supporting the national team’s participation in international sports competitions. In the future, we plan to continue working with the KFA to generate excitement for women’s football in line with the timing of the Women’s World Cup and carry out various marketing initiatives to promote the national team’s achievements
