Curriculum in place to Train Professional Talents in Media for Drama Production and Distribution
Date Apr 27, 2022
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister HWANG Hee, MCST) together with the Korea Drama Production Association (President SONG Byung-Jun, KDPA) will run a course called “(K)-Global Broadcasting Video Contents Curriculum” for nurturing practical talents and experts in the field of broadcasting and video production from April 25 (Mon).
To this end, a total of 60 trainees were selected for the “Broadcast video content (drama) planning/production process” and “Distribution/marketing process” after screening documents and interviews since last February. Those selected participants will be given opportunities to learn and experience in the field for approximately seven months. The course will provide systematic education, including special lectures, planning and production practice, and field training.
MCST said “The ‘K-Global Broadcasting Video Contents Curriculum’” provides on-site training that fully reflects the industry demand. In 2021, a total of 111 people completed the two courses of planning, production, distribution, and marketing, and 97 people were employed, which shows that 87% of trainees who completed courses settled in the job market.
In particular, the well-known experts in the industry, including producer LEE Hae-in of the drama <Beyond Evil>, Vice President KIM Yeon-Sung from the famous drama <The Red Sleeves>, and CHO Gun-Won from <Vincenzo> will deliver lectures to participants of the program. After the courses completed, trainees will be provided with on-site experience in connection with production companies and distribution companies for gaining practical experience.
