The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister YU In Chon, MCST) is launching the “Korea Bucket List” event in partnership with Korea Tourism Organization (Acting President SEO Young Choong, KTO) to mark “Visit Korea Year 2024.” The event will run from September 1 to November 10, offering approximately 20,000 international tourists visiting Korea the chance to experience a diverse range of Korean attractions, including K-culture, history, beauty, and local regions.

This event is designed to offer foreign tourists who have purchased flights to Korea the opportunity to experience special “K-Culture” activities they’ve always dreamed of. The goal is to help them create meaningful memories in Korea and encourage them to choose Korea as their autumn travel destination in the future.

A Variety of Korean Tourism Memories: K-Wave, History & Tradition, Beauty, and Local Attractions

The event will be held in four rounds, each corresponding to different visiting periods. Foreign visitors who wish to participate can select their preferred experience from a total of 36 options on the dedicated website[1], based on their visit dates[2]. Approximately 20,000 participants will be selected through a drawing, giving them the opportunity to experience and enjoy Korea’s diverse attractions.

“K-Culture” experience opportunities include a wide range of activities tailored to key themes for each round, such as K-Wave, History & Tradition, Beauty, and Local experiences. These activities feature K-Dance sessions at renowned dance team studios, K-Pop song recording sessions, traditional market tours, Korean cuisine classes, temple stays, idol-style hair and makeup sessions, wellness resort stays, and more.

In collaboration with Korea Airports Corporation, the event will also provide 100 round-trip domestic flight tickets, allowing foreign tourists to explore various regions beyond Seoul. Winners will depart from Gimpo Airport and travel to beautiful destinations, including Yeosu, Pohang-Gyeongju, and Jeju. Additionally, popular activities such as Hanbok experience tickets, amusement park passes, picnic kit rentals at Hangang River Park, transportation cards featuring Visit Korea Year ambassador CHA Eun Woo’s image, and convenience store vouchers will be offered continuously throughout all four rounds, allowing participants to enjoy K-Tourism experiences and shopping perks.

MCST policy official stated, “We hope that foreign tourists visiting Korea this fall will have the opportunity to experience various aspects of K-Culture and leave with unforgettable memories of Korea. We will continue to promote the appeal of Korean tourism through various events that showcase K-Culture.”
